This August we spoke at the RIC Conference in Nairobi, Kenya. The event was centred around how can earth observation data effectively address mundane problems that impact livelihoods in Africa and counted with the presence of the General Secretary of the Kenyan Government.
The Conference was organized by the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development that counts with the following member states: Botswana, Burundi, Comoros, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Rwanda, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Swaziland, Seychelles, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

In a major step toward advancing global firefighting technology, 𝗔𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵, an international consortium of 16 companies, lead by CTTC and BCN Drone Center, has been named a semi-finalist in the prestigious XPRIZE 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. The four-year, $11 million initiative aims to accelerate the development of innovative tools to combat destructive wildfires and promote sustainable coexistence with natural fire cycles.
