Students from the Robotics Master organized by EURECAT & UVic have visited us to learn how to conduct a complete drone operation: flight planning, sensor integration, pre-flight checklist, operation and data post-processing.

We are happy to have hosted IATA in our center for the Drone Innovation Weekend in Barcelona, Spain. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) supports aviation with global standards for airline safety, security, efficiency and sustainability.

This week we are hosting an exclusive course for a team visiting from Malaysia. In the course they will get to know about UAV remote sensing and photogrammetry use-cases for business and society.

As we prepare for the 2019 Drone trainings, we have made some exciting improvements to our UAV Test Center:

Last week we had the privilege of hosting Eyeplane, a drone startup from The Netherlands which is a part of the ESA BIC network and their Norwegian engineering partners Maritime Robotics. Eyeplane proposes an innovative fixed-wing drone service by which they will be able to monitor large areas of land from the sky and warn customers in case of irregularities. They are planning to work in Namibia for wildlife preservation.

Today, at the last day at the Mobile World Congress 2019, we would like to thank everyone for making it such a fruitful week for us. A big shout out to the catalan ministers, who we met at Palau de la Generalitat, for their immense support. We are also grateful to have been graced by the Minister from Rwanda. And finally, thanks for all the MWC19 visitors who wanted to meet the BCN Drone Center in person.
