Pilot Training in the Specific Category
Receive the official UAS pilot certificates for operating in the Specific Category under the Operational Authorisation regime
Who Is This Training For?
This training is designed for drone pilots seeking to operate in the Specific Category under an Operational Authorization. To carry out such operations, pilots must complete both theoretical and practical training based on the requested Concept of Operations (ConOps).
This training must be delivered in collaboration between the UAS operator holding the operational authorization and a Designated Entity.
As of September 2024, our company CATUAV S.L. is officially recognized by AESA as a Designated Entity entitled to provide this specialized training.
What Does the Training Include?
The training offered by our Designated Entity is structured into three main components:
1. Generic Theoretical Training
Remote pilots must acquire general theoretical knowledge applicable to all operations conducted under operational authorization in the Specific Category. CATUAV provides instruction on all required subjects and conducts the final examination.
2. Generic Practical Training
Pilots must demonstrate practical skills relevant to the authorized ConOps. CATUAV delivers hands-on training and evaluates the pilot’s performance.
3. Specific Endorsement Modules
Depending on the nature of the operation outlined in the ConOps, pilots may need additional specialized training. This can include one or more of the following endorsement modules:
Night operations
Overflight of populated areas or assemblies of people
BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) operations
Low-altitude operations (under 500 ft)
Flights in non-segregated airspace
Cargo transport and/or delivery
Transport of dangerous goods
Multi-UAS and swarm operations
Launch and recovery using special equipment
Mountainous terrain flights
Highly automated operations
Operations above 120m AGL
UAS with non-electric powerplants
Operations in controlled airspace and FIZ zones
Operations near aerodromes, airports, or heliports
Activities involving the release or dispersion of substances or materials

What We Offer
We provide flexible training options, allowing you to complete the theoretical training remotely and at your own pace, tailored to your specific needs.
Depending on the characteristics of your Concept of Operations (ConOps), the practical training can be conducted either at our facilities or on-site at locations representative of your Operational Authorization.
What You Will Receive
Once you’ve successfully completed the required training and exams, we will issue the corresponding theoretical and practical certificates of accreditation, qualifying you to operate as a remote pilot in the Specific Category under the Operational Authorization framework, valid in all EASA Member States.
