BCN Drone Center selected for RAWFIE research project

Air- and Water-based Future Internet Experimentation) consortium as an aerial testbed for the enhanced infrastructure of the project.
The RAWFIE project is a Research & Innovation Action (RIA) project, under the European Commission Horizon 2020 framework, grant agreement 645220.

CATUAV, that presented a proposal named BCN4ROUTE, was selected on June 2016 and receive funds under the 1st Open Call from RAWFIE.
CATUAV is very proud to provide its services and facilities included in the BCN Drone Center and have introduced important enhancements in its communication and data links, redundant systems and new hardware, all of them dedicated to the requirements of the RAWFIE infrastructure and future experimentation needs.
This selection by the 1st Open Call of the RAWFIE project implies that, during the next two years, several experimentation activities will be performed using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) on the CATUAV-BCN Drone Center facilities, its segregated airspace and its test resources.
All this experimentation activities will be controlled remotely by the core RAWFIE infrastructure that provides the necessary resources to the experimentation teams worldwide, in order to schedule, plan, validate and monitor the whole activity associated to their experiment action.
In this way, the BCN Drone Center of CATUAV becomes testing node for all these experimentation teams, providing support and ensuring that all the associated procedures will be adequately followed.
The RAWFIE project has launched a new Open Call for experimentation purposes. CATUAV and the BCN Drone Center wish to invite and encourage all research and application teams to explore the possibilities to submit their proposals for this OC2 and be able to join to this amazing project: rawfie.eu/content/open-call-no2
