European Consortium conducts testing and training at BCN Drone Center

Different partners from RAWFIE project visited BCN Drone Center for integration, testing and training sessions.

RAWFIE (Road-, Air-, and Water- based Future Internet Experimentation) is a project funded by the European Commission (Horizon H2020 programme) under the Future Internet Research Experimentation (FIRE+) initiative. The project introduces a unique platform by integrating test beds of unmanned vehicles for research experimentation in vehicular, aerial and maritime environments. The project is bringing together thirteen partner organizations from eight EU countries.

RAWFIE’s core team tested 8 quadcopters, 2 fixed-wings and 2 Rover UGVs. They also set up BCN Drone Center facilities to have the capability to serve as a remote test bed for the whole consortium.

Similarly to what happens nowadays with astronomical observatories, anybody will be able to book a slot for remote experimentation with no need to travel to Barcelona.
